Access Log Manager
What's the goal of the Access Log Manager? What sort of information will it supply you with?
An access log is a comprehensive list of all the files that were accessed by the guests of a given Internet site. Each and every file that was requested in some way will be listed, so if you have just one webpage with 3 embedded images, one video and one embedded text file, as an example, the access log will contain a total of 6 entries - one for every of the 6 files that were accessed when the visitor opened the page. A log typically contains the file name and path, the date, along with the visitor’s Operating System, web browser and IP address. Occasionally you can also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your site. The data that an access log file provides is in human-readable plain text format. It may be processed by special software on a PC and used to prepare reports on the overall performance of an Internet site, besides the web stats your server may have generated.
Access Log Manager in Shared Website Hosting
Our in-house built Hepsia CP includes a section focused on various logs and the access logs are one of them. Once you sign in to your shared website hosting account and navigate to this section, you'll find a list of all the domain names and subdomains which you have. All it takes to permit the generation of access logs is to click on a button which will be available next to every single domain/subdomain. When the option is enabled, you'll see a download link along with the file size so far, so you'll be able to save the file to your computer and view it or process it with some app. Enabling or disabling the logs becomes effective instantly, so if you no longer require one, you may stop it with just a mouse click from the very same section of the Control Panel. You'll still have the ability to access the already generated content by simply clicking the Download link.
